As we whizz towards the end of term, excitement is mounting, and the school is very busy. We are all really looking forward to the final week, where the children will enjoy their Christmas parties (within their class bubbles), Christmas dinner on Wednesday and they will also have the chance to visit The Elves’ Grottos to select a Christmas gift for a loved one because Christmas is all about kindness and giving (not just receiving!) Thank you so much to Miss Othen, Mrs Nash and all of the FOCS committee who have organised this special event for the children. We also have a special Christmas treat planned for Friday, organised by Miss Othen.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Christmas raffle, be it donating items, purchasing tickets or helping make up the wonderful hampers. £1,200 was raised in all, which FOCS will put to very good use in the forthcoming weeks and months.
Next week, we will be uploading the Christmas nativities to Seesaw. Each class has filmed their own section, adhering closely to the government guidance, and maintaining their class bubbles. Mr Williams has been working hard to edit the clips and create a lovely show which you will be able to watch at home with your children. It is fine for you to show these videos to family members but please do not share any of the videos on social media sites. We really hope that the films will inject a little bit of Christmas spirit and positivity and make you all start to feel Christmassy.
You may have seen reports in the media regarding schools having the option to take Friday 18th December as an extra PD day. We will not be taking this as a PD day and school will remain open. We will return to school on Monday 4th January.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend and will look forward to seeing you on Monday for our final week of the Autumn term.
