The RE curriculum we follow in KS1 and KS2 is taken from the Shropshire Agreed Syllabus. 
There are two main strands:

1. To learn about some of the different religions in the world;
2. To learn from religion; ie. to reflect and explore questions about spirituality at the child’s own level.

Parents have a right to withdraw their children from RE lessons.

The lessons are not tackled from a personal belief point, and do not indoctrinate in any way.

The children are helped to understand and respect some of the practices and beliefs from the major world faiths, with due emphasis on Christianity, as stipulated nationally.

Children are encouraged to explore questions within their own beliefs and develop a sensitivity to the beliefs and cultures of others, and acknowledge the right to not believe.

Children develop a deeper appreciation of the spiritual, moral and natural world around them.

The exploration of questions is largely covered through discussions and sharing of ideas.

Learning about religion is covered through videos, exploring artefacts and pictures, workshops, visiting speakers and visits outside school.
